How Will My Order Be Delivered?
Chiltern Mills employs several Courier Services to deliver your order based on the kind of goods that you order.
In the case of larger and bulkier items such as furniture and beds, these will be delivered using delivery companies that offer specialist services for these goods.
When Will My Order Arrive?
Delivery to UK Mainland is normally within 2- 5 working days of the goods being ordered. All goods are usually dispatched next working day service excluding Fridays, weekends and Bank Holidays.
Other items including, but not limited to, Divans, Mattresses, Furniture and larger items may take up to two weeks to deliver and Chiltern Mills will get in touch with you to arrange a specific date.
Delivery to the more remote areas of the UK may take 2 - 4 additional working days for delivery.
When we have to order in an item from our suppliers this may take an additional 7 – 14 working days from the day you place the order.
If we are unable to deliver within this time period we will contact you and arrange another date which is convenient for you.
Do I need to be at Home to Accept Delivery?
All of our deliveries must to be recorded unless you have stated on your order any Special Delivery Instructions that you want us to follow such as "Leave next door with a neighbour" or "Leave in the garage at side of house".
The Special Instructions can be placed into your basket when you are on the web site ordering the goods.
If you order over the telephone we will email you any Special Instructions that you have requested when confirming the order.
Please note when you ask for orders with Special Instructions and the goods are delivered using those instructions, the goods are left entirely at your risk.
If it is more convenient then why not deliver to your work address.
What happens if I miss the Delivery?
If you are not home when a courier arrives to deliver your goods the first time around, a card will be left at the requested delivery address with the contact details of the nearest sorting depot where the goods have been returned to.
The driver will attempt a second delivery on the next working day FREE of charge.
If you will not be at home on the next working day to receive the delivery, please contact the number on the card to arrange a more convenient time for delivery.
The delivery company will attempt a third delivery. If they are unable to deliver the goods on this third attempt the goods will returned to the delivery company's depot and then back to Chiltern Mills.
If the goods are returned to Chiltern Mills there will an additional charge. This will be the same as the original delivery charge which will still have to be paid.
You can ask for delivery again. A member of our Customer Service Team will contact you to confirm a date and to confirm and take any extra payments before the delivery is made again.
Any extra charges will be deducted from any refund you are due.
Delivery of Larger and Bulkier Items
For the larger items our Customer Service Team will be on hand every step of the way to ensure that the goods are delivered to your satisfaction.
However, it is essential that you are in and have agreed a time for the delivery with our Customers Services Team.
Chiltern Mills is not able to leave any of these bulkier items with say a neighbour unless this has been accepted by you in an email and arranged prior to delivery. However, we will be as flexible as we can in arranging delivery.
With each order, Chiltern Mills will inform you both verbally and by email of any extra charges that will be incurred if you are not in to take the delivery.
These will be notified to you in writing before dispatch and must be agreed to by email before delivery.

When you order larger items such as a bed with smaller items such as a bed linen, Chiltern Mills may send these using different couriers.
However, you will only be charged for one delivery. The delivery charge will be based on the cost of the larger items.
If for any reason we are not able to send the larger items then the standard rates of delivery will apply to any items sent.
How Do I Track My Delivery?
Once your order has been dispatched we will email you with a tracking number which can be used on our courier's website to track where the goods are.
Please note your tracking number may not work immediately but once the item has arrived at our couriers sorting depot (approximately the next working day) this code should be working.
